Reunion '59


Dear Cubberley Class of 59 graduate


 
The class's 50th reunion is scheduled for the weekend of the 10th, 11th and 12th of July, 2009.  

Friday July 10th information

There are at least two separate things happening Friday; one afternoon and one evening. Please join your classmates on Friday afternoon, July 10th from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm at Cubberley's music room, M4. Come to enjoy drink and finger food with your classmates. There is no agenda other than to get together and to reacquaint us with the school and with one another. While we're getting together at Cubberley one topic to discuss might be what it is we want to continue on to that night; ie go to dinner together, to go carouse with the Cravellos or to come up with some alternative plan. 

PLEASE NOTE UPDATE! Billie Jo Cravello is hosting an open house on Friday night at her suite, 834, at Dinahs. It's a BYOB function to follow the cubberley visitation

Again, both of these Friday functions are gratis affairs but we need to plan on your attendance. Please e-mail Billie Jo as soon as you know if you will attend her open house. When you respond and pay for your plan for the Saturday and Sunday functions please indicate at that time whether you will attend the free Friday afternoon get together at Cubberley M4.    

 Saturday Night July 11th information

There will be a dinner Saturday night the 11th at Mitchell Park's Grand Room. The event will last from 6:30 until 11:30. There will be minimal speeches and Winston Franklin Chew has agreed to put on some music for people to dance. The meal and choice of beverages will be announced on June 1st. If you choose not to pay for the provided meal and/or beverages, you are invited to bring what it is you prefer. One option would be to contact Waiters on Wheels (google-able and order-able on line) and have them deliver your meal and drink from one of our very good Palo Alto restaurants. The exact dinnertime will be announced for those who want to coordinate a delivered meal. Any other method of your getting the food and drink that you prefer is acceptable. We strive to do what it is that will make you a happy camper.

Sunday Afternoon July 12th information

There will be a barbecue at Mitchell Park's Oak Grove picnic area the afternoon of Sunday the 12th from 12:30 until 5:30. Filet Mignon is not on the menu so once again, if you have a picky personal palate, please decline any portion of the planed food and beverages and fend for yourself; we can provide the cook. The menu for the picnic also will be announced on June 1st. 

With respect to both the dinner and picnic; if you order the meal we propose to provide , then your case of vegetarianism will be planned for. 

 Saturday Night Costs

 

The price per person for attendance only to the Saturday Night dinner/dance function to be held at Mitchell Park’s Grand Room from 6:30 pm until 11:30 pm is 15 dollars.

 

The cost per person for the meal is 15 dollars.

 

The total cost per person for beverages is: 10 dollars for beer and/or wine; 2 dollars for soft drinks

 

The only mandatory purchase is the attendance fee. You may choose none or any combination of food and drink.

 

Examples: If you want to come, eat and drink beer and/or wine you should figure: 15, plus 15, plus 10 for a total of 40 dollars. If you choose to come and drink soft drinks you should figure 15 plus 2 for a total of 17 dollars.

 

The local Estrallita Restaurant will cater the meal. The menu is

Chicken Pilbil. It’s a mild traditional dish from the Yucatan

A grilled vegetable and cheese enchilada,

A slow cooked beef and cheese enchilada

Rice

Beans

Cake

Coffee

 

The beer will probably be Sierra Nevada from a keg.

The wine will be California Central Valley; probably a choice of two whites and two reds.

 

Dinner will begin at 7:15 pm for anyone ordering out.

 

Sunday Afternoon

 

The per person cost for attendance only to the Sunday afternoon picnic to be held at the Oak Grove Area of Mitchell Park from 12:30 pm until 5:30 pm is 5 dollars.

 

The per person cost for the meal is 5 dollars.

 

The per person total cost for beverages is; 10 dollars for beer and/or wine and 2 dollars for soft drinks .

 

The only mandatory purchase is the attendance fee

 

The meal will be a hamburger, a turkey burger, a veggie burger or sausage (not polish or a hot dog)
